GAME RECAP: Barnstormers vs. Steamwheelers
DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers were downed 42-17 to the Quad City Steamwheelers Saturday at the Casey's Center, falling to 1-9 on the season.
Quarterback Dante Aviles-Santos finished 9-18 with 88 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the loss.
While Iowa's rushing game came up short, running back David Elder led the Barnstormers in receiving yards, totaling 55 on five receptions including a 22-yard catch.
Defensively, Jon Adams Jr. recorded his third interception on the year, which leads the team.
Iowa will return to the field on Saturday, June 20 to take on the Fishers Freight on the road. The game is set to kick off at 6:00 p.m. CT and can be seen live on Yahoo! Sports.
The Barnstormers' next home game will be on Saturday, June 27 against Tulsa (7 p.m. kickoff).
