Iowa Barnstormers

Jermaine Hampton returns to the Iowa Barnstormers organization with experience as both a coach and a player. After a successful collegiate career at Northern Illinois University as a two-time all-conference defensive back and Jim Thorpe Award Finalist, Hampton signed with the Indianapolis Colts. Hampton spent three seasons with the Colts, making his mark as the leading special teams tackler in 2001.

Following his stint in the NFL Hampton continued to pursue his football dreams, turning to the indoor game. Hampton spent time with the Rock River Raptors and Chicago Slaughter of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) and the Chicago Rush of the Arena Football League (AFL).

Hampton coached the Barnstormers defense to a 9-7 regular season record and playoff appearance in the 2022 season.
