Linebacker Zachary Allen

Welcome back to SPEED DATING, where we give you a crash course introduction to each member of the 2017 Iowa Barnstormers roster!

Today we’re going to introduce you to linebacker Zachary Allen.

Zachary Allen (6-2, 240, Wake Forest University) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season in the IFL. Collegiately, Allen spent four years at Wake Forest University appearing in 24 games. Allen made his first career start in 2012 where he collected five tackles, including four solo stops. Allen closed out the season ranked fourth on the team with six special teams tackles.

What is Allen looking forward to in the 2017 season? “Still being able to pursue my dreams and play for a great organization.”

What is something that’s on your bucket list? “I want to go snow skiing in the mountains”

Who is someone who inspires you? Why? "My mother is my biggest inspiration because of all the sacrifices that she made for my siblings and I. She always made sure we had everything we needed despite the opstacles she had to overcome. My mom showed me the true meaning of hard work and dedication and for that I'm very grateful and blessed."

Where is one place you have always wanted to visit, but haven't? "Caribbean Islands."

If you weren't pursuing football, what would you be doing? "I would probably be coaching or furthering my education."

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far? "Being a small town kid out of Florida and being able to graduate from a top pretstigious University despite all the sacrifices and obstacles i had to overcome."

What is your goal going into the 2017 season? "My goal is to come play at my best ability and help my team win a championship."
