Barnstormers Fall to Storm, 53-30![]() Barnstormers Lose Road Game DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers (4-10) fell to the Sioux Falls Storm (14-1) Saturday night at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A competitive first half started fast for both teams witht the Storm striking first via touchdown pass from quarterback Lorenzo Brown to receiver Mike Tatum. The Barnstormers quickly answered as receiver Marquise Cushon hauled in his first career receiving touchdown from quarterback Travis Partridge tying the game, 7-7. The Barnstormers took the lead when Partridge lowered his shoulder and barreled into the end zone from two yards out, PAT good, 14-7. With just 30 seconds remaining in the first quarter Storm quarterback Lorenzo Brown found his way to the end zone, a failed PAT made it 14-13. The Barnstormers struck first in the second quarter as kicker Jimmy Allen nailed a 26 yard field goal, 17-13. The Storm however were able to regain the lead on a touchdown toss from Brown to receiver Marcus Beaurem, 20-17. With seven minutes remaining in the quarter the Barnstormers score on a 26 yard quarterback keeper from Partridge, Allen added the PAT, 24-20. The Storm found the end zone one more time as Brown and Beaurem connected for the second time, 26-24. The Storm began to pull away in the third quarter putting up two more score. First Brown found his way into the end zone on the ground a second time this time from 16 yards out. Following up a Barnstormers missed field goal attempt the Storm found the end zone on as running back found the end zone on the ground from seven yards out, 40-24. The first score of the fourth quarter came with five minutes remaining by way of five yard pass from Brown to receiver Mike Tatum extending the Storm lead to, 46-24. The Barnstormers offense found life late when Partridge found receiver Bryan Pray in the end zone from 27 yards out a failed two point conversion made it, 46-30. The Storm put the final score of the game on the board with just over a minute remaining when Williams found the end zone this time from six yards out, 53-30. The Barnstormers will close out the season with a two week home stand starting next with their matchup with the Wichita Falls Nighthawks (9-5) on June 18 at 7:05 p.m. The Barnstormers then close out the season with their third matchup with the Cedar Rapids Titans (11-4). ### |
