Barnstormers Announce Military Night Details
May 30th Game Honors Military Personnel

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers will host the team’s 6th annual Military Appreciation Night, sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, on Saturday, May 30th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CDT at Wells Fargo Arena.

Wells Fargo Bank Military Appreciation Night with the Iowa Barnstormers is a great opportunity to honor local troops during a fun-filled night of football. Military soldiers from around the area have been invited to attend the Barnstormers game next Saturday, thanks to our partnering sponsors.

Prior to kickoff, fans may have their picture taken with military vehicles presented by the U.S. Army and Navy. Several military guests will take part in pre-game events including Fisher House Choir who will share our National Anthem while the Stars and Stripes are presented by the AMVETS Post 2 Color Guard. Again this season, Military Night will feature a pre-game fly-over.

An anticipated event of Military Appreciation Night includes the annual jersey auction where all proceeds will benefit the American Legion Riders Post 663. These game-worn, camouflage jerseys which are exclusive to Military Night will be featured in a silent auction located behind section 124. The silent auction is open to all fans and will extend from when doors open at 6:00 p.m. until the end of the third quarter. Each jersey will be sold to the highest bidder and presented by the player themselves. A photo opportunity with the player and jersey will be available.

Bikes brought in by members of the American Legion Riders Post 663 will form the tunnel for the Iowa Barnstormers introductions where players will be introduced with a military soldier by their side.

At halftime, future soldiers will take their Oath of Enlistment during the U.S. Army swear-in ceremony. A performance by the National Guard’s 34th Army Band Patriots Drum and Fife will also take place.

Military Night packages ranging from $150 to $500 are still available to fans and businesses for purchase. These packages provide tickets to those who have dedicated their lives to defending our country and their families. The packages even include rewards for the donor.
