2010 Record- 3-5 (1-4 at home 2-1 on the road) - Streak: lost 2- Fourth Place, National Conference, Midwest Division
Week 10 Recap:
The Vipers took an early lead, but the Barnstormers continued to answer them with each score. Early in the second quarter after the Vipers missed an extra point attempt the Barnstormers seemed to pick up the edge over the Vipers scoring three times before the end of the half. Tommy Ellingworth was a favorite target for Ryan Vena in this match up, scoring two of three touchdown receptions in the first half. The Barnstormers went into halftime on top 28-26.
The Barnstormers came out of halftime just as strong as they went into it scoring twice more in the third and following up with two Tanner Varner interceptions early in the fourth quarter, both of which led to touchdowns. Everything seemed to favor the Barnstormers coming on top in this game, but then the Barnstormer offense seemed to shut down scoring only a field goal while the Vipers scored three additional times. The Barnstormers were down by only one point in the final seconds of the game and went for a field goal, but it fell short and the Barnstormers suffered their third defeat at home.
Week 11 Preview:
The Barnstormers head out on the road for the next two weeks their first stop is a long road trip South to Bossier-Shreveport, Louisiana to take on the Battle Wings. This will be the first time they have faced this opponent in their franchises history.
Bossier-Shreveport started their season off strong winning their first two games. Their ride ended quickly with the next six games being losses. Their toughest loss came in Game 7 when they lost to the Alabama Vipers by 37 points and were only able to score 19 points total in the game. The Battle Wings had a hard fought battle last week against the Dallas Vigilantes and ended their six game losing streak beating Dallas 70-69.

Tommy Ellingworth-WR/DB-#10 Week 10 Line: 5 receptions for 88 yds and 3 touchdowns
With the announcement of Tim Dodge’s retirement coming only days before the teams match up with the Alabama Vipers many wondered who would be able to fill his shoes. Tommy Ellingworth stepped up and showed ‘Stormer Nation the talent he has. Ellingworth got his first start on Saturday night and with five catches for 88 yards and three touchdowns he was able to showcase what he had been working so hard on up to this point. Ellingworth started games late last season as well, primary in the backfield as a defensive back where he played very well at finishing the year with 22 tackles and one interception in five games. Now Ellingworth has shown to be a major component on both sides of the field.
